Liv Warfield Live At Café Wha? is a live performance captured at the historical club. The album catches out of this world body jolting energy combining soul, rock & roll, and pure raw live vocal utopia at its best. Liv Warfield was a member of Prince’s New Power Generation and was featured on his Welcome 2 America release last summer. You definitely hear the purple influence in the music. Liv’s musical diversity is unmatched showcasing her powerful vocals, musicality and sheer passion. From songs like ‘Don’t Say Much,’ ‘Crash,’ and a cover of Prince’s When Eye Lay My Hands On U this album captures the magic of a live gig.

About the recording Warfield says: “I knew this was going to be an epic night. This venue is so historical… I wanted you to feel every note in your spine. When you step in “Café Wha?” you can feel it. The band and I were one. That’s what you want. It was live on a whole other level.”

The band consists of Ryan Waters (guitar), Justin “Jaymck” McKinney (Bass), Marlon Patton (Drums), Daniel Porter (keyboards) and Redd (Vocals).

Liv Warfield caught the eye of Prince in 2006 with her self-release Embrace Me and joined his group, the New Power Generation (NPG). In 2014, she released her sophomore album, Co-Executive Produced by Prince, titled The Unexpected for which she received a 2014 Soul Train Music Award for “Best Contemporary Jazz Artist.” She also received two additional Soul Train nominations (“Best New Artist” and “Best Independent R&B/Soul Performance”) and a BET “Best New Artist Award” nomination. In 2015 she had showstopper performances on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and The Late Show with David Letterman. That same year, Warfield’s performance, which closed out Essence Fest, was hailed as one of the most memorable after shows by fans and critics at the New Orleans House of Blues. More recently Liv has collaborated with Questlove, Black Thought and Ray Angry of The Roots releasing Toyland.

Warfield plans to announce more live dates soon and will be heading into the studio to record her next studio album this year. To learn more, visit Liv Warfield’s website at LIV WARFIELD.
