To celebrate its 20th anniversary, in its September issue Marie Claire honored 20 “movers, shakers, mavericks and bad-asses” who are making a difference for women and girls around the world.
Among those 20 women are musicians Alicia Keys, Taylor Swift, Shakira, and Jennifer Hudson. All of them have something in common: they’re generous philanthropists and/or founded non-profit organizations benefitting underprivileged people.
Whether it be Shakira through her Barefoot Foundation, or Alicia Keys with Keep a Child Alive, these are all commendable women who take time out from their busy touring schedule to give back.
