In this episode of LIVE: Front & Center, host Myki Angeline talks with Pianist, Songwriter, Producer and Composer Elise Solberg. Myki and Elise connected during the 2022 NAMM Show in Anaheim, California (US) back in June as guests on the Women Of NAMM live broadcasted podcast. 

Elise shares what it was like being selected to play with Beyoncé during her 2022 Oscar performance of “Be Alive”(Original Song from the Motion Picture Soundtrack ‘King Richard’), and her experience with composing/producing for the horror film ‘The Listing’ while on location in Germany.  She also talks in depth about her organization, Turn Up Her Mic, which she created a year ago, and the need for female/nonbinary mentors in the live music industry.

Elise Solberg is a pianist, songwriter, producer, composer and entrepreneur born in Tokyo, Japan, raised in Denver, Colorado and based in Los Angeles, CA. She is a versatile performer in multiple styles of music, including pop, R&B, rock, classical, and jazz. Most recently, Elise performed with Beyoncé at the 2022 Oscars, performing the Oscar-nominated song “Be Alive” from King Richard. Elise has performed with 5x GRAMMY nominated artist Chloe x Halle at the MTV Movie & TV Awards, Global Citizen Festival, NPR’s Tiny Desk concert, James Corden’s Late Late Show and more. She is also the Founder and Executive Director of Turn Up Her Mic, a non-profit organization empowering and increasing women in live music through informative panels, programs and more.
