Esperanza Spalding’s Emily’s D+Evolution, released March 4, 2016 on Concord Records, is a daring tapestry of music, vibrant imagery, and performance art from the 4-time GRAMMY winner. Fresh off a 17-city European tour which included performances at the U.K.’s Love Supreme Festival, the Cruilla Barcelona Summer Festival, the Jazz a Vienne Festival and the North Sea Jazz Festival, the genre-bending composer, bassist and vocalist has just completed a new video with director Calmatic (Kendrick Lamar, Jhené Aiko) for her slow-burning hit “Unconditional Love.” The song and video reflect Spalding’s attitude towards traditional roles in relationships with a delightful twist.
You can watch the new video now right here via BET Soul.
Emily’s D+Evolution continues to win raves, and has been voted one of the best albums of 2016 (so far) by NPR, Rolling Stone, Time, LA Times, Paste, New York magazine’s Vulture.com and more.
Spalding will embark on a fall tour running from September 29 to November 4 with stops in the U.S. and South America (the fifth continent that her tour has visited). More dates are expected to be announced in the near future.
