The autumn heat wave didn’t stop any of the talented performers from rocking out at the She Rocks Showcase on Sept. 20, with amazing sets by Kate Diaz, Laura Clapp, and Post Modern Authors.
The WiMN held their second She Rocks Showcase of the year at The Taste of WGBH Food & Wine Festival this past Saturday at the WGBH headquarters in Boston, Mass. WiMN founder Laura B. Whitmore attended the event, noting that “it was wonderful to share these talented artists with folks at the WGBH Food and Wine Festival. What amazing performers! We look forward to creating more opportunities for female artists in 2016.”
With the sun on their side, Kate Diaz, featuring Daniel DeSalles on the drums, opened up the show with some soulful original songs. Following Diaz, Laura Clapp performed her empowering set and ended with a crowd favorite, a cover of the classic “Me and Bobby McGee.” Closing the show, Cambridge, Mass.-based band, Post Modern Authors, electrified the crowd and rocked out with a full band.
