In this episode of LIVE: Front & Center, host Myki Angeline welcomes Janishia Jones to the podcast! She is a member of the Recording Academy’s class of ‘22, entrepreneur, and musician/ singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles, CA.

Upon earning an Associate in Recording Arts, bachelor’s in music business, and master in entertainment business from Full Sail University, Janishia has led a decade long career working for some of the most revered music companies in the world including SRC / Universal Motown, eOne, Kobalt Music Publishing and EMPIRE. Her expertise in music publishing led her to expand business operations (increasing revenue by over 700% YoY) and in 2022, Janishia launched ENCORE Music Tech Solutions, where she consults & develops rights management systems for music enterprises including EMPIRE Publishing.

In 2019, Janishia founded Fresh ‘N Sassy Productions, an ecosystem of safe-spaces for women of color in the music business. As host of Pub Royalty Queen Podcast she interviews WOC about their challenges navigating a white male-dominated industry and she has launched a new series called ‘Across the Table’, a conversation of POC panelists in the music industry discussing advocacy in spaces where they are underrepresented which is distributed by Ebony Magazine’s Podcast Network.
