Two-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated multiplatinum songstress Kelsea Ballerini has debuted her highly anticipated new album kelsea (Black River Entertainment). The album features 13 new songs including the artist’s recently gold-certified hit single “homecoming queen?,” as well as “the other girl” with Halsey, “love and hate,” co-written with Ed Sheeran and “half of my hometown” featuring a special guest appearance by country legend Kenny Chesney.

Of her new album release, Kelsea Ballerini said earlier this week, “I just want y’all to know this release week is going to look pretty different than I had hoped and planned for. I wanted there to be so many face to face opportunities to perform these songs for you for the first time and hug as many of you as humanly possible. Unfortunately, due to the current global situation we aren’t able to do many of the things I had up my sleeve. I had 21 days of straight travel planned to visit my favorite TV shows and radio stations and see you guys along the way but what I care most about is getting this album to you and keeping everyone safe in the process. I know music can bring some peace and joy when everything feels a bit out of control. I hope my music can help bring that to you. I promise to find ways to reimagine our surprises and plans as soon as it’s safe.”

Since she first exploded onto the country music scene, Kelsea Ballerini has moved through life at a feverish pace. In only in recent times, has one of music’s most vibrant stars found the necessary breathing room to ease off the gas, return home to Tennessee, and take stock of the roller coaster ride that’s been her life this past half-decade. Finding that inner calm has resulted in Ballerini crafting some of the most personal and admittedly vulnerable music of her already-monumental career.

An introspective look into the emotions of the last two years of her life, Kelsea Ballerini presents some of her most poignant songs on this new album release and her vocals shine with emotionally charged lyrics. The collection overall highlights her ability to seamlessly shift between a multitude of genres, while sonically and steadfastly remaining true to her country roots. Kelsea debuted her current single “homecoming queen?” in the fall of 2019 and also debuted a series album tracks over the course of the last several months including “club,” “la” and “hole in the bottle.”
