Janelle Monae released a new track titled “Hell You Talmbout” to raise awareness about victims of police brutality.
Monae teamed up with her Wondaland Records labelmates to create the powerful song. The chant track will accompany their continued efforts in leading marches in cities across the states.
The emotional, strong track features the names of Sandra Bland, Michael Brown, and Treyvon Martin, amongst many others. As Monae posted on her Instagram, “This song is a vessel. It carries the unbearable anguish of millions… We recorded it to challenge the indifference, disregard, and negligence of all who remain quiet about this issue.”
