International Women’s Day Rally
What: Hundreds of women will go on strike to mark International Women’s Day on Thursday! The organizers of International Women’s Strike NYC are calling on women in the city to strike from all labor – paid and unpaid – for one hour beginning at 4 p.m.
The strike will be followed by a rally at 5 p.m. in Washington Square Park, which will feature speakers from unions, immigrant rights groups and grassroots feminist organizations, among others. Ralliers will then march through downtown Manhattan, stopping at sites like the Stonewall Inn and the Varick Street Immigration and Customs Enforcement building.
