WOMENS-AUDIO-MISSION-logoHelp send the ladies of Women’s Audio Mission (WAM) to the 139th Audio Engineering Society Convention (AES)! The non-profit organization is taking donations through an IndieGoGo fundraising page in order to attend the event. Based in San Francisco, WAM is dedicated to the advancement of women in the music production and the recording arts. Less than 5% of workers in this field are women, and WAM is determined to help change that low statistic. As said in their mission statement, “WAM believes that women’s mastery of music technology and inclusion in the production process will expand the vision and voice of media and popular culture.”

As the largest gathering of audio professionals in the world, AES is essential for WAM, so an IndieGoGo campaign was launched to raise the funds necessary for members to attend. Being part of AES will allow WAM to reach new women and students in audio and further their powerful network.

This year is especially important as WAM just moved into a new studio, which is currently the only professional recording studio built and run entirely by women and girls. The fundraising goal was set for $5,000, and with a few weeks left, they have already surpassed it. Any extra money will go towards sending more women to AES!

Help make this happen for even more women at WAM by visiting their IndieGoGo site – any little bit helps. For more information on WAM, check out their website by clicking here.
