Gina Sicilia Pays Tribute to Sam Cooke with Soulful New Album

Earlier this month, renowned blues and soul singer Gina Sicilia released her highly anticipated 11th studio album, Bring It On Home: A Tribute to Sam Cooke via Blue Étan Records.

As a love letter to Sicilia’s lifelong admiration for Sam Cooke, this deeply heartfelt tribute captures the timeless spirit of one of music’s most iconic voices, while showcasing Sicilia’s own impassioned artistry and reverence for the material.

At the emotional core of the album is the hauntingly beautiful focus track, “Lost and Lookin ‘”, a soul-baring performance that pays homage to Cooke’s unmatched ability to convey raw vulnerability through song. “There’s something almost otherworldly about this track,” says Sicilia. “It stripped me down to the very essence of what it means to sing from the soul.”

The album, produced by acclaimed Fred Mollin, presents a rich cross-section of Cooke’s catalog–from beloved hits to deeper cuts–through Sicilia’s unique lens. The album includes powerful renditions of “A Change is Gonna Come,” “Shake,” “Another Saturday Night,” and “Blowin’ in the Wind,” as well as the electrifying single “Twistin’ the Night Away,” which arrived earlier this year and ignited excitement around the project.

The title track, “Bring It On Home,” holds a special meaning for Sicilia–it was the song that sparked her lifelong admiration for Cooke. “His voice taught me how to feel a song,” she says. “I hope listeners hear the love, the reverence, and the joy that this project brought to life.”

Bring It On Home: A Tribute to Sam Cooke, is available today on all streaming platforms and in physical formats.
