The WiMN recently took downtown Nashville by storm with two electrifying events during the Summer NAMM conference.

On Wednesday, July 17, The SheRocksIt Panel & Mixer was held in cooperation with Music Biz Besties and WeWork. A panel of amazing women from all sides of the music industry – from events to marketing and promotions, to teaching, and more – shared their career stories and the associated challenges they overcame, as well as tips for women wanting to start or further propel their own careers in music and audio. Attendees also had the opportunity to network with panelists and other attendees to make new connections, and to win fun music-related prizes.

This dynamic panel was moderated by The WiMN’s founder Laura B. Whitmore. She was joined by:

Heather Youmans, PR & Communications Manager, Fender; Katherine Forbes, Founder, Designing the Row; Heather Findlay, artist, co-lead She Rocks Secret Sari Dress Campaign; Ashley Moyer, Publicity Manager, Rounder Records; Brooke Ivey, Corporate and Special Events, APA Agency; Gloria Green, Asst Professor, Dept. of Recording Industry, College of Media and Entertainment, Middle Tennessee State University.

The following night, The WiMN took up residency at Tin Roof Broadway with the She Rocks Showcase Nashville, in partnership with Marshall Amplification. For the past six years, the She Rocks Showcase has given dozens of amazing female artists of all styles and ages the opportunity to perform in front of music industry members, local musicians and media.

Industry attendees enjoyed an evening of live performances, drinks and prizes. UK artist Heather Findlay kicked off the evening, performing her unique style of melodic rock with a full band.

Next up was Nashville R&B/soul pianist and singer/songwriter Jess Nolan, who blew the room away with her stellar vocals and soulful original music.

She was followed by Memphis singer/songwriter and guitarist Grace Askew, who’s growling set proved why she’s a winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and an alum of The Voice.

Closing out the evening, headliner Emily Wolfe, a powerhouse electric guitarist and singer songwriter from Austin, TX, tore down the house with a mind blowing set that had the crowd on its feet.

The 2019 She Rocks Showcase Nashville was also sponsored by Marshall Amplification, Martin Guitar, Casio, 108 Rock Star Guitars, M.A.C Cosmetics and John Paul Mitchell Systems.
