The WiMN team has been super busy this month producing several events designed to inspire and educate women in music.

On Thursday May 2, the WiMN teamed up with the House of Blues Music Forward Foundation and the Alliance for Women Film Composers to present the #SheRocksIt Panel & Mixer at Live Nation in Hollywood. The informative live panel explored the careers of dynamic women in the music business, and shared tips and valuable insights for those looking to start or further their own career .

Spearheaded by the Women’s International Music Network founder and She Rocks Awards producer Laura B. Whitmore, the stellar panel lineup consisted of:

Starr Parodi, recording artist/composer/President, Alliance for Women Film Composers; Ursula Kneller, Universal Music Group, Process Innovation; Kathryn Bostic, award-winning composer, pianist, vocalist and producer; Malina Moye, guitarist, actress, singer/songwriter; Pamela Burga, Manager, Diversity & Belonging – Live Nation Entertainment; and Emily Simonitsch, SVP, Booking – Southwest at Live Nation Entertainment.

The event concluded with a lively networking mixer where attendees ate, drank, enjoyed live music, mingled with panelists, and made new connections. Drinks and food were provided by Spitfire Grill, Gil Family Estates wines, Hint Water, Hippeas and Ellenos yogurt. Music was provided by fantastic young artist Victoria Elise.

On Friday, May 3, the She Rocks Showcase at the ASCAP “I Create Music” EXPO invaded Live House in Hollywood, and tore off the roof with riveting performances by headliner Judith Hill plus Gigi Rich, Halle Johnson and Eliza Spear. Attendees were also treated to a fantastic raffle that included a Casio keyboard, Fender guitar and amp, Sennheiser mic and much more. Performers stuck around to say hello to the Expo crowd.

Celebrating its sixth year, the showcase was designed to enable female artists of all styles to perform in front of industry experts, media representatives, artist, publishers and more. Sponsors for the evening included Martin Guitar, Casio, 108 Rock Star Guitars, John Paul Mitchell Systems and M.A.C Cosmetics, who provided the performers’ makeup for the evening.
