Fimone Releases Defiant and Urgent Anthem “Woman” Ahead of Int’l Women’s Day

Americana/Indie powerhouse Fimone has released “Woman,” a defiant and urgent anthem, on March 7, just in time for International Women’s Day.

Driven by Fimone’s vocals over solo electric guitar, and produced by Grammy winner Greg Magers, the song is an unfiltered, blues-infused rallying cry against systemic oppression, inspired by events like the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

“‘Woman’ isn’t just another song, it’s a battle cry,” Fimone says.

“As an artist and a woman, this track feels like the most important thing I’ve ever created. It’s deeply personal because it speaks to the reality of living in a male-centered society and the frustration of seeing Roe v. Wade overturned in my own lifetime. This song is so connected to who I am and what I stand for. The fight for women’s rights is the fight for human rights, and I use my music as a sword to challenge oppression. With ‘Woman,’ I hope to inspire others to stand up with me and refuse to be silenced.”

With biting lyricism and commanding vocals, “Woman” takes direct aim at gender inequality, calling out issues like bodily autonomy, the wage gap, and systemic discrimination.

The single’s raw energy is punctuated by lines like:

I’m gonna need you to keep your laws off my body,
and keep your paws off too.
The problem with man he’s always claiming lands
he’s got no rights to.
We’re gonna have to learn to work together,
and honey when we do,
you damn well better believe that I deserve
the same pay as you.”

With “Woman,” Fimone delivers a song that isn’t just meant to be heard—it’s meant to be felt. As the fight for women’s rights wages on, “Woman” arrives as a powerful soundtrack for resistance.
