Determined 10-year-old Girl with Disability Learning to Play Flute

Abby Gieseke of Denton, TX was born without a fully-developed left hand. However, this setback is not stopping her from achieving one of her dreams: to play the flute.

Screen Shot 2013-10-15 at 11.49.20 AMTogether with retired North Texas musician and instrument repairman, Clarence “Woody” Wood, the two are making this dream a reality. Wood designed a stand to grip the instrument and hold it steady, and even redesigned the flute itself to make it more compatible for Gieseke.
