The incredibly talented young ladies of Auburn Road have been a country/pop trio since 2014, although they have trained in music since they were children. Friends through middle school, Kristen Brown (17), Paxton Martin (16), and Alicia Paulson (18) decided to pursue singing collectively as group in their early teens. Their freshman EP titled album, Fancy, is a collaborative effort with all three sharing in writing lyrics. With one endorsement on the books by Amazing Lash Studios in Elk Grove, they have already managed to work with some of Music Row’s best, including the rhythm section of Jason Aldeen’s band (Tully Kennedy, Kurt Allison and Rich Redmond) and mastering engineer Andrew Mendelson (Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town) on Fancy, this talented trio is off to a great start.
Besides having a passion for music the three admit to sharing a love for mall shopping, binge-watching documentaries, movies, and TV Shows on Netflix, and eating; giving shout outs to Rick’s Dessert Diner and the family-owned Gunther’s Ice Cream on their EP. Still in school, Auburn Road find themselves focusing more on their budding career than the normal socializing with schoolmates, rehearsing every day from 3p-11p. Back in May, I had the pleasure of interviewing them and playing their music on my podcast. They treated our audience to an impromptu a Capella in studio performance as well!
Auburn Road already have a plethora of performances under their belt including the upcoming country music festival Wolf Fest 2016, courtesy of 101.9 FM The Wolf on October 2nd in Orangevale, CA.
