We launched the She Rocks Podcast on February 13, 2020 interviewing GRAMMY-nominated Saxophonist Mindi Abair. Hosted by WiMN Founder, Laura B. Whitmore the She Rocks Podcast presents conversations with extraordinary women from all walks of the music industry, from top-tier performers to behind-the-scenes heroes. Sharing insights, tips, gear rundowns and so much more, the She Rocks Podcast gets in-depth and personal about all the issues that matter.
Not only the founder of the Women’s International Music Network, Laura B. Whitmore also created the She Rocks Awards, is a singer/songwriter, guitarist, journalist for Parade.com and music industry marketer. A champion for women in music, she has interviewed hundreds of musicians from every spectrum of the industry.
Our LIVE: Front & Center video podcast is a twist on an original concept. When the WiMN launched the Front & Center feature back in 2012, it started as a written Q&A article highlighting women in every aspect of the music industry. By 2020 we experienced the sudden shutdown of live performances due to the pandemic, leaving many in the music industry in a state of uncertainty. In September 2020 we made the decision to change our feature platform from written article to live video podcast with GRAMMY-Winning and Multi-Platinum artist Linda ‘Peaches’ Tavani as our first guest! Hosted by WiMN Member Myki Angeline, each episode broadcasts live simultaneously on the WiMN Facebook page and YouTube channel welcoming viewers to interact in a chatroom.
Myki Angeline has been a part of the WiMN since 2015, starting as the Red Carpet Host for the She Rocks Awards. In the following year, she was promoted to Media Content Manager as she continues writing articles and interviewing women in the industry to this day.
