Brooklyn pop artist Bayli takes on the New York City heat in the music video for her new song, “MYOB: Or Whatever” (Mind Your Own Business: Or Whatever). The track is off her upcoming mixtape titled Summer, which is the artists solo debut as the former singer of R&B group The Skins. The mixtape will be appropriately dropping later this summer.
The music video premiered on Paper Magazine; Bayli explained, “The song speaks volumes to me even more now than when I wrote it about a year ago. When I started focusing on myself more and ‘minding my own business,’ my world began to open with all different types of blessings and opportunities. We had absolutely no budget to shoot this video but we somehow got it done in three days…I hope this is a testament [to the fact] DIY and independent artists ain’t going nowhere! We coming in for the win! It was also important to me that I bring people into my small yet excited little world here in the best city on earth, New York City.”
Bayli recently opened for Snoop Dogg on the Fourth of July and has already been recognized as “Brooklyn’s rising star” by NY Mag. “MYOB: Or Whatever” has been praised by a number of media outlets including TIME stating, “as confident and unapologetic as it is catchy… its carefree swagger is hard to beat” and Refinery29 with, “going right to the top of my summer jams playlist.”
