The first annual Women’s Music Summit brought together women of all ages and instruments with artist instructors and industry experts. This 3-day event provided instruction, insider tips, industry expertise and so much more in an environment that nurtures and supports female musicians.
Taking place among the Catskill Mountains of Upstate New York at Full Moon Resort, female musicians of all ages and skill levels gathered for two days of workshops, panels and performances for the first annual Women’s Music Summit over August 29th – 30th, 2012. The Summit featured performances, workshops and classes from Meshell Ndegeocello, Melissa Auf der Maur, Malina Moye and Marnie Stern.
“Sometimes I forget how unusual it is to speak to a classroom of just women. It makes for a much different kind of a time. I can’t say exactly why it’s different but the exchange of ideas, or information, just seems to happen on a different level. I was happy to be there and happy to pass on what I knew.”
-Meshell Ndegeocello
