The $40,000 scholarship will be presented to a female student enrolled at Belmont University in Nashville within the university’s Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business.

In a statement, Lambert said that she wants to “encourage and empower women to achieve their goals” and to help dispel the barriers currently facing women in the music industry.

Kudos to her for helping pave the way for future women in music!
