The International Music Software Trade Association (IMSTA) announces Grammy-nominated mastering engineer, Emily Lazar, will deliver the keynote address at IMSTA FESTA New York. The celebration of music technology is FREE and is open to anyone interested in making music. IMSTA and SAE Institute New York are partnering to host the event on Saturday, September 26. The SAE Institute is located at 218 W. 18th Street 4th Floor, New York, NY 10011.

Emily Lazar is the first female mastering engineer to be nominated for a Record of the Year Grammy. Lazar is also founder and president of The Lodge, an audio mastering facility in New York City’s Greenwich Village. Her credits include working on over 2,000 albums with artists including Foo Fighters, David Bowie, Wu-Tang Clan, Destiny’s Child, Paul McCartney, Lou Reed, Sia and Vampire Weekend.
“Emily is truly a pioneer in the music industry. We are thrilled to have her address IMSTA FESTA New York and share her experience and insights on music technology and mastering in particular,” said Williams.
IMSTA FESTA New York will also include a professional panel series with music industry leaders including Ariel Borujow, Chris Gehringer and Nick Cucci, who will bring a fresh perspective on the industry. Topics include “Elements of Mixing” and “GRAMMY 101 primer” which explains everything you need to know about the Grammy Awards.
Attendees will be able to network with major industry professionals and access the latest music technology equipment. Native Instruments, Avid, Cakewalk, Celemony, PreSonus, Propellerheads, Sony, Focusrite, Steinberg and Sonnox are among the exhibitors who will showcase their products and answer questions at IMSTA FESTA New York.
