Artist, musician, and innovator Sarah Fimm announces Powered by Dreaming, also known as “Sparkle Camp,” set to take place at Full Moon Resort in Big Indian, NY, May 28 – May 31, 2013.
This three-day experience will provide workshops on music, art, astronomy, biology, botany and much more, sculpting a setting ripe for innovation to flourish. Complete with superb cuisine and comfortable lodging on a one hundred acre pristine mountain landscape, the “Powered By Dreaming” program is meant to enrich, inspire and uplift all attendees by engaging them in live music performance, elevating art installations, and illuminating workshops with noted innovators of all kinds. “Campers” will be presented with the opportunity to meet and interact with mentors who have achieved their own dreams successfully, and learn about the practical tools necessary to turn one’s own dream into a reality.
Hundreds of unique works will be on display by regional, national and international artists as a gesture of respect to Inspire Art, a movement Fimm created as a global call to all artists, thinkers, talkers, dreamers, and anyone who wants to use their talents to fight for human rights. Installations by hand-selected artists will be on exhibit in the surrounding landscape. The artwork submitted from Inspire Artists all over the globe will hang in physical form, and will be projected on the walls of different structures at Full Moon.
The premier exhibition will be created by Fimm herself; a handmade interactive Sparkle Park composed of 5,012 mirrors sewn together with fishing line, hand decorated, and accompanied by hundreds of solar multicolored glowing hummingbirds. In honor of artists both living and departed, the mirrors will be displayed in specific locations across the Full Moon campus, scattered on the trees, buildings and bushes.
The ultimate goal of “Powered by Dreaming” is to bring dreamers together for a once-in-a-lifetime event, merging remarkable talents, with a mission of artistic creation, discovery and an exchange of ideas.
