New York based artist Eline Chavez released the video for, “My America” the latest single from her music project, Onism E which she describes as “a culmination of life experiences wrapped up in a soulful package.” The video is powerful, showcasing footage of various protest marches in support of the Black Lives Matter movement which gained global attention following the killing of George Floyd by law enforcement on May 25, 2020. The project name derives from the term Onism, which is the awareness of how little of the world you will actually experience. Chavez is joined on this project by guitarist Chris ‘Lefty’ Vargas and bass player Chris ‘CeeRod’ Rodriguez.

The song is now available on all digital platforms; noting that 100% of download proceeds of the single, “My America” via BandCamp will be donated to the Equal Justice Initiative.

Chavez was born in California, and had lived in Texas before settling in New York. She draws inspiration from her life trek across the country in her song writing:

And I’ve long since forgotten /  what it means to be free / between the hate and the violence / I’m afraid to be me /
