Boston native Carissa Johnson is back with “Middle of Nowhere,” the latest single off her upcoming album A Hundred Restless Thoughts, out December 20 via A Diamond Heart Production.

“Middle of Nowhere” sees Carissa, quite fittingly, exploring nature on her very lonesome. “In the middle of nowhere I’ll sing along to a new song / I’ll sing it at the top of my lungs,” she sings while standing alone surrounded by trees and atop a desolate dock.

Carissa’s acoustic tune eventually becomes more hopeful, with themes of love-related anxiety being replaced with those of reassured romance. “One of these days all these nights I’ve been wasting / Will cease to be, what seems to me a fence I need to climb / Is only in my mind,” she exclaims boldly atop a boulder.

A Hundred Restless Thoughts marks the end of a highly eventful 2019 for Carissa. Her band The Cure-Alls walked away with an award for ‘Rock Act of the Year’ at this year’s New England Music Awards, opened up for such acts as Damone, Dorothy, and The Damnwells, and recently wrapped up a two-year-long tour across 25+ states.
