The 2013 April issue of Guitar World celebrates female guitarists.

It features Orianthi on the cover – only the third time a female has been on the cover in the magazine’s 30-year history –  and spotlights WiMN friend and female guitarist Malina Moye.

In the editor’s letter, Guitar World Editor-in-Chief Brad Tolinski gave the WiMN founder Laura B. Whitmore a shout-out for the She Rocks Awards and Women in Music Network Breakfast held earlier this year in partnership with NewBay Media. He also praised several formidable female guitarists, and said that the world of guitarists “may be a boy’s club, but we need to start welcoming our sisters into the fold,” among several other commendable words that praise female guitarists.

Inside the issue, Orianthi dishes in on her new album Heaven in This Hell, talks about gear, and more. Read an excerpt from the interview here, and go to your nearest grocery store to stock up on copies on March 5. Or, buy a copy online here.

In related news, Pure Guitar recently featured Gretchen Menn on its cover. Kudos to guitar magazines for putting ladies in the spotlight!
