On Sunday, Jan. 17, Janeane Bernstein of KUCI interviewed WiMN founder Laura B. Whitmore on her “Get the Funk Out” radio show segment. Discussing the purpose for the WiMN, which as Whitmore summed up, “advocating for women in the music industry… Our goal is to give women a voice and to promote the idea that women have a valuable contribution in the [music] industry… It’s not just a boys club.”

Whitmore informed listeners about NAMM and upcoming events that the WiMN will host (the National Association of Music Merchants). Notably, Whitmore expressed her excitement over the fourth annual She Rocks Awards, from the incredible roster (including Chaka Khan, Amy Heidemann of Karmin, Jennifer Batten, Cathy Carter Duncan from Seymour Duncan, and more), to her awesome co-host Nita Strauss. Whitmore stated, “it’s a full-circle collection of fabulous women.” The show starts 7:00 p.m. and will take place on Jan. 22 in Anaheim, Calif.
