Back in June, Korean-American popstar Tiffany Young shared the music video for her new, edgy song, “Over My Skin.” In just 6 hours of the release, the video had reached 160k views. The single alone has 2.5 million streams across Spotify and YouTube, in addition to charting #1 on the iTunes Pop Chart in 13 different countries. According to her rep, key scenes in the video represent what Young has learned over time and wants to teach others, like taking control of one’s own career and learning how to manage a world dominated by social media.

The artist explained that: “I wanted to surprise everyone that has shown me so much love and support on this unpredictable journey with the official music video to “Over My Skin” on a special day for me, my Birthday (Aug 1)! Recently I’ve been learning all angles of the music industry from developing and producing my merch, music video editing and concept design, songwriting and production, budgeting and so much more in my own career. This music video reflects situations where I’ve had to overcome my insecurities as a performer, shut out any fears or shortcomings, and feel good in my own skin. Through this process, I encourage everyone that’s following their dreams and passionate about what they love, to take their destiny into their own hands, learn as much as you can about your craft and keep learning, let’s inspire each other to grow.”

Tiffany has been praised by media in the US with Noisey stating that, “Tiffany captivated the world with K-pop supergroup Girls’ Generation, and now it’s time for her to take the throne back home in the USA with her new solo single”, and Rolling Stone with “[the song] is a sensual, bold, English-language song.” Tiffany plans on releasing a highly anticipated EP in early 2019.
