Diffuser.fm recently met with Thao Nguyen, the singer and guitarist for Thao and the Get Down Stay Down, to discuss the band’s latest studio release We the Common.
Nguyen tells Diffuser.fm that their new album has “a newfound energy and sense of humanity in the lyrics and a sort of vibrancy in the music,” and says that listeners will hear transformations primarily “in the change in the songwriting and the difference in scope and narrative, and how the songs are, I hope, more outward-seeming.”
