Los Angeles based singer/songwriter Drea has just dropped a surprise follow-up to her February release, “Hometown” – the sultry new single “Parachute” which is now available across all digital platforms. This single was originally a collaboration with L.A’ songwriter/producer Teo Olivares. Drea brought in long-time music partner and dance producer/DJ Kayja to imbue new life to this fleshy, dance-chill, Halloween-themed break-up anthem.

“‘Parachute’ is a project that started 4 years ago in Teo’s shed-turned-studio. The lyrics were inspired by the ghostly feeling of betrayal after the end of a toxic relationship. It is true that oftentimes people don’t know what they have until it’s gone, and this song is for anyone who has been underappreciated, by a friend, lover, or even boss in this way. Ultimately, ‘Parachute’ is for the people who are finding the strength to finally own their worth and move on from situations that no longer serve them.” says Drea.

2018 has been an incredible year for Drea. She created Reclaim Movement in January, an open level dance class in Los Angeles that empowers women to reclaim ownership of their bodies after the trauma of sexual assault. In May, she organized and hosted the first For Her Concert Series, a live music event in Los Angeles featuring performances by female musicians, organized and staffed by an all-woman team, and benefiting women in need. Drea also serves on the Board of Directors of The Ladybugs Movement, a non-profit campaign working to bring feminine hygiene products to homeless women in L.A. – and just recently was voted on the Board of Directors for ProjectMuszed, a non-profit organization which works to provide youth in need with resources, life skills, and opportunities in music education, performance and higher learning.

She is currently applying to graduate school programs in Public Affairs to effectively expand her passion for non-profit and local government action.
