The Women’s International Music Network (The WiMN) has announced Rock Sugah will return as the house band for the 2018 She Rocks Awards. Comprised of Divinity Roxx on bass, Kat Dyson on guitar, Benita Lewis on drums, and Shaundrin ‘DRiN’ Elliott on keyboards, the band will rock the house with funk and soul throughout the awards ceremony.

Divinity Roxx returns to the She Rocks Awards as the Musical Director and bass player. Divinity may be most known for having toured as Assistant Musical Director for Beyoncé, showcasing her bass skills to sold out shows all over the world. Before touring with Beyoncé, Divinity toured with the Grammy Award winning bassist Victor Wooten and has appeared on the cover of Bass Musician and Bass Player UK magazines. She’s recorded with Will.I.Am and renowned producer Jerry Wonda, as well as Victor Wooten and Bella Fleck. She is a member of the Black Girls Rock Orchestra (BET), and has backed artists such as Sheila E., Erykah Badu, Patti Labelle, Jay-Z, Kanye West, George Michael, and more. She’s also toured and was the musical director for K-Pop sensation 2NE1, hip-hop artist B.o.B. and R&B artist K. Michelle. Kat Dyson is excited to return to the She Rocks Awards. She has most notable toured and played with Cyndi Lauper, Prince, Sheila E, Natalie Cole, Ivan Neville, Donny Osmond, Odetta, Mick Jagger, Sarah McLachlan, Buddy Guy, BB King, Chaka Khan, Carlos Santana, Sting, Stevie Wonder, Sam Moore [Sam &Dave], Bruce Willis, Nona Hendrix, The B52″s and many more in her illustrious career as a guitarist and songwriter. Her studio work highlights are with such artists as Prince, Keb Mo’, Ziggy Marley,S heila E., Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) and Mick Jagger [Alfie soundtrack]. In the May 2017 edition of Guitar Player, she made the 50 Sensational Female Guitarist List and is included in the compilation SHE ROCKS,VOL. 1 on Steve Vai’s label Favorite Nations Records. Benita Lewis returns to the She Rocks Awards as the drummer extraordinaire. Her groove and timing unmoved, Benita is a revitalizing force; commanding, yet poised. She has played with a host of Gospel, Jazz and R&B artists such as Marvin Winans, Commissioned, Randy Scott, The Dramatics, Richard Street & The Temptations, Lalah Hathaway, and Frank McComb to name a few. As a recording engineer, some of Benita’s most recent mixing and mastering work can be found on the 3X Grammy award winning CD release Lalah Hathaway LIVE by 5X Grammy winning artist Lalah Hathaway. The CD won Best R&B Album at the 2016 Grammy Awards; the single “Angel” was number 1 on the Billboard R&B/Soul Charts for a consecutive 9 weeks and won Best Traditional R&B Song, and the single “Little Ghetto Boy” won in the Best Traditional R&B Performance category. She is the Senior Financial Controller and Manager of Supply Chain for North American Operations at Native Instruments, Inc., in addition to being Co-CEO of UltraMedia Studios; a full-service music recording and film/video post-production facility in Los Angeles, CA and UltraMedia Entertainment a record label and music/film publishing company. Born and raised in Memphis, TN, DRiN began teaching herself to play the piano at age 13 with no formal musical training or teachers. In 2004, she auditioned and was accepted into Birmingham Southern College and in 2009, she graduated and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music with a concentration in music composition. DRiN has accompanied a plethora of incredible artists/musicians and currently serves as keyboardist for Latin American & Billboard award nominee Natalia Jimenez and CW’s “Vampire Diaries” actress Kat Graham. The WiMN recently announced the honorees which include platinum-selling singer-songwriter Lisa Loeb, Executive Director for The Otis Redding Foundation Karla Redding-Andrews, and Senior Director of Creative and Business Development, BMG Production Music Amberly Crouse-Knox.

The She Rocks Awards pay tribute to women who display leadership and stand out within the music industry, and has become a standard at the NAMM Show.
