Norwegian singer-songwriter Susanna is slated to drop new album The Forester through her own label SusannaSonata, on Sept. 17.
With a trajectory spanning more than a decade and eight albums, the Oslo-based artist is known for both her own songwriting and her vast range of highly personal interpretations of covers from artists like Dolly Parton, Leonard Cohen, Prince, Joy Division, Scott Walker, KISS, and more.
Susanna’s first new, full-length release on her own label, The Forester, is a co-production with the Norwegian contemporary music group Ensemble neoN. It combines the antique notes of the Baroque theorbo, woodwinds and strings, and Susanna’s sparse piano, and features Susanna’s strongest songwriting to date.
