We recently posted an article teaching parents how to choose the right instrument for their kids once they want to learn how to play. But what if they don’t want to play?

Pennsylvania-based newspaper The Patriot-News recently wrote an article on how to get and keep your kids interested in music.

Tips offered include starting early, signing up for private lessons, and letting kids experiment.

“Music is experiential, so expecting a 7-year-old with little auditory experience musically to take well to being thrown into piano lessons is a long shot,” Berklee School of Music’s Drew Krasner told The Patriot-News.
