Wow! After watching Colbie Caillat’s video for “Try,” that’s about all we can say as we nod our head and drop our jaw.
Caillat’s empowering video aims to encourage women to stop pleasing society’s never-ending superficial demands regarding appearance, e.g., putting on make up, shopping till you drop, curling your hair, etc. The lyrics read “Put your make-up on,
get your nails done, curl your hair, run the extra mile, keep it slim so they like you, do they like you?”
The singer mentioned to People magazine that she’s sick of having the mole on her forehead removed in photos, and then appears in the video sans make up revealing the mole (she looks gorgeous, by the way).
