Jennifer Ajemian Casting is seeking actor/musicians for the upcoming film SUGAR!

SUGAR! is an adult coming of age story about a housewife (Leslie) who gave up her life as a musician for her politician husband. When an old band mate passes away, Leslie decides to revisit her passion for music by secretly forming an all-women’s rock band.

Below are the band members who end up playing in Leslie’s band. Advanced instrumentalists are a must.

Needed:

[ELLEN]. Female. Early to mid 50’s. All ethnicities are encouraged to apply. Short and curvy. Has dark hair and dark eyes. She is the opposite of Leslie in terms of look and demeanor.

Ellen is a self-made woman who is defensive of her choices in life, and does not stand for being taken advantage of. She seeks a second chance at having success with the band she was once a part of in her twenties. Must be a strong actress and singer, and play the GUITAR. Shoots 7-10 days. Principal.

[CINDY]. Female. 50’s. All ethnicities are encouraged to apply. She can be tattooed, maybe has red hair, but not necessary. She is a hip dresser and can pull off any look. She is street-smart, fast-talking, sexy and not afraid to show it. She is straightforward, a great people reader and cuts through the bull in any and all conversation. Must be able to play the DRUMS and sing backup. Shoots 7-10 days. Principal.

[JANE]. Female. 50’s. All ethnicities are encouraged to apply. Perhaps has dark hair but not necessary. She is an upper class, sophisticated gal who comes across as the conservative/quiet type. Bored with her perfect life, she wants something adventurous to pursue. When she auditions to be in Leslie’s band, we see a whole different Jane ready to rock out. Must be able to play the BASS GUITAR and sing backup. Shoots 7-10 days. Principal.

Rehearsals will begin July 2014, and the actual shoot will start in August 2014 and will take place in New York and New Jersey.
