The upcoming album, Open the Curtains, by contemporary jazz vocalist, pianist, composer, producer Carol Duboc is casting a vast variety of women musicians. The goal of her album is to bring awareness to women empowerment. Duboc’s album is scheduled to be release August, 19, 2016.

Her album will feature percussionist Sheila E., pianist/vocalist Patricia Rushen, saxophonist Mindi Abair, guitarist Bibi McGill and Jennifer Batten, drummer Queen Cora Coleman, bassists Rhonda Smith, and singer Aubrey Logan. Collectively, these amazing musicians all got a chance to gain experience from artists such as Stevie Wonder, Carlos Santana, Prince, Michael Jackson, Pink, and Beyoncé.

Duboc’s experience is not too far from all the other women musicians she brought together for her album. She also worked with Maurice White, Teddy Riley and George Duke.

The message that Duboc’s wants to state from this album is the female strength, wisdom, independence and grace expressed through contemporary jazz and R&B music. She wants to awaken the emotions of love, identity, loss and renewal with in a female.
