Indie Alternative-Pop band The Bitter Elegance just released their new album, Twisting The Fairytale, a 12 track concept album engineered and mastered by Jeffry-Wynne Prince on Participation Trophy Records with songs like, “Malice In Wonderland”, “We’re All Mad Here”, and, “This Dark Carnival.” Hard copies are being made available during the band’s sold out performances this weekend.

This Sacramento native band describe their music as “Muse meets Evanescence”, due to lead singer Merlot (violin/keyboards) hailing from a metal genre background and years of classical singing experience. Members Jeffry-Wynne (guitarist/keyboardist/vocalist), Michaelandrew (bass/keyboards/guitar), and Bractune (drums/keyboards) bring their New Wave and Pop influence to the band, creating dynamic, live performances that mirror a Gothic Cabaret.

Merlot shared with me in a recent interview how this concept album came about, her experience singing in a choir at the iconic Carnegie Hall in New York, and what her musical journey has been like as a woman in this industry. See video interview here.
