Five time Blues Music Award winner Rory Block just released the sixth installment of her project, The Mentor Series, titled, Keepin’ Outta Trouble – A Tribute to Bukka White. The series is her way of saying thank you to legendary artists that she has worked with personally; Son House, Fred McDowell, Reverend Gary Davis, Mississippi John Hurt, Skip James, and Bukka White – some of the all-time greatest and most influential names in early blues.  Slated as the best CD in the series, Keepin’ Outta Trouble shot straight to No. 1 on the Acoustic Blues Album Chart according to Root’s Music Reports.

Block is a well-respected blues artist in her own right with more than twenty highly acclaimed releases and outstanding reviews from respected sources like The New York Times saying, “Her playing is perfect, her singing otherworldly as she wrestles with ghosts, shadows, and legends.”  Fellow blues artist Bonnie Raitt refers to Block as, “an inspiration to me since we started out years ago.  Her singing, playing and songwriting are some of the most soulful in traditional and modern blues.” she says.
